Name of Product: Web Poster Wizard

Description of Product“Quick and easy online school projects and short reports…Web Worksheet Wizard and Project Poster have combined to make Web Poster Wizard. This FREE tool allows educators to create a lesson, worksheet, or class page and immediately publish it online. Teachers can also set up classes and assign projects to students. Students complete the assignments by creating their own online projects or reports. Teachers and students can even add images and links to their pages.”

Nikki’s Description of Product: Web Poster Wizard is a free tool that helps teachers/parents create easy webpage worksheets online for class or homeschool use. These worksheets can include photos and educational resource links for students to learn more. With Web Poster Wizard, students can display assignments, like book reports or science projects, online. They simply follow the easy instructions for completing their projects. Once the assignments are finished, students can go to the URL site where their project is displayed. They can also share this URL with others, if desired.

In order to use the free Web Worksheet Wizard tool, teachers/parents must first register to create classes. A class code is then automatically created for each class. It is also necessary to log in each time you use the tool.

Homeschool Uses: The Web Worksheet Wizard can be used with children in grades K-12 and with nearly any subject. Homeschooling parents can take advantage of the management tools to help organize their classes/curriculum. This is especially good for those teaching various age groups. Parents can also create assignments based on whatever they’re currently covering. For instance, you could choose to create book reports for reading/LA. History projects could include biographical timelines, family history posters, historical event timelines, etc. Numerous science-related projects could be covered using this tool. The possibilitiesare endless.

Content and Safety:  “Students are not allowed to put last names, email addresses, or other identifying information on their projects.” Content is based on what the teachers/parents decide their worksheets or assignments should cover. You can also use the Teacher Feature to archive all your students’ work and choose whether to keep this page private.

Nikki’s Experience Using the Product: The first thing I did was register, which I found was a very simple and painless process. No personal information was required, other than an email address. I then created a worksheet and a poster assignment.  Even though I do not have much experience creating these types of items, it took very little time and effort for me to do so.  In fact, it was quite easy!

Take a look at the Family History Scavenger Hunt worksheet I created.  The Create a Family Tree poster assignment I made even includes a helpful links section.

Tutorial or Promotional Video of the Product: The Help link includes a user guide, but you can also view and save the PDF version, which gives step-by-step instructions. (Adobe Reader required).

Summary: I thought the Web Poster Wizard site and tool was easy to navigate and simple to use. No special are skills necessary to create worksheets. It’s a good tool to use with any subject and fits in nicely with your curriculum, making assignments easy to prepare. I enjoyed seeing my “creation” online so I’m sure the kids will love seeing theirs as well. Overall, this is an excellent tool for homeschoolers or anyone involved in education.
